Jericho Homestead is an independent, nongovernmental, nonprofit organization founded by five siblings who inherited farmland from their late father. The organization’s mission is to provide a home for the homeless and to help those in need. The idea for the organization came from a dream one of the siblings had when he was just 11.
In his dream, the boy encountered an elderly man who resembled a beggar. The boy asked him, “Where are you going?” The man responded, “I have nowhere to go.” The man then collapsed into the boy’s arms and passed away. The boy was perplexed and questioned why an elder had no place to go. In his dream, he pointed to his family’s land and declared, “When I am older, I will build a home for the homeless.”
After the dream, the boy continued to live his life, and 22 years later, he was ordained as a spiritual leader. That night, he had a dream identical to the one he had at 11 years old.
Throughout history, dreams have been a means of communication from a higher power. As history has shown us, there are times when a greater power reaches out to us through our dreams. Take, for instance, the story of Joseph, who experienced a visitation from the Angel Gabriel in his dreams. The angel conveyed the message that Mary was chosen by God to carry His Son and assured Joseph that there was no need to worry, as she had not been with any other man.
In a twist of fate, the farmland took on a spiritual identity of its own, leading the family to donate the land and establish the Jericho Homestead. After many years, permits were granted, plans were approved for four buildings, and construction is now underway.
The Jericho Homestead charity helps the elderly and youth who face homelessness in India through housing, education, and humanitarian efforts. We are dedicated to serving the community with love and compassion to break the cycle of poverty. At Jericho Homestead, we strive to be the guiding light for the less fortunate as we are all one family under one Heaven.
On average, 0.15% of the population experiences homelessness, and Jericho Homestead is on a mission to lower that number. We focus on providing humanitarian aid to the elderly and young homeless individuals in India. We aim to break the cycle of poverty through hunger prevention, housing, stability, and educational programs.
Our approach involves building and staffing homes, teaching individuals how to access health services, and empowering them to provide for their families independently. We also prioritize supporting students from low-income households by providing them with education, clothing, and food.
We strive to help the less fortunate move out of poverty and lead sustainable lives by equipping them with the necessary tools and programs. At Jericho Homestead, we believe in being the guiding light for those in need, as we are all part of one family under one Heaven.
